"It" is coming...

It is just getting too close, I need to share some feelings. What is "it" you ask? "It" is happening in 3 months when we say goodbye to Salt Lake City and hello to Omaha. "It" is constantly on my mind...the packing, the driving, the moving, the details, the emotions of it all. Not a day goes by that I don't think about it.

So many people ask me if I am excited and yes, I am excited, along with a whole roller coaster of emotions. I am excited to experience life outside of Utah and outside of Salt Lake City. I think it will be neat to see how different, or the same, the church is outside of Utah and on a much larger scale, just society in general.

I am so sad to leave family. It will be weird to not go to either of our parent's houses on Sunday or any day of the week for that matter. I can't really even imagine what it will be like. I am mostly sad for Kinnie though. She LOVES her grandparents sooooo much. She is always asking to go to Magga and Packa Brushy's house and Magga and Packa Bew's house. She has such amazing relationships with them as well as her aunties and uncles and cousins. I wonder how much she will understand about not being able to see them or go to their houses. It really breaks my heart and it hasn't even happened yet!

I am nervous about the packing and getting everything ready to go. I feel like I need to start packing things up already which I know is so silly. It just makes it seem so close to think that we only pay rent 3 more times or only have 3 more fast-Sundays, because things like that seem to roll around so quickly. I guess it wouldn't hurt to start organizing a little so when we do start packing it will be that much easier.

I am so grateful for the situation we are in. Because Landon was accepted to Creighton and the RDEP program through the University of Utah we were able to stay here another year and will only be gone three years instead of four. He is one of ten students currently in the program. All ten are married and 6 of us have children. We have already had a few play groups so we all can get to know one another. It will be nice in Omaha to already have familiar faces.

Overall, I really am excited for the new experience that lies ahead.

You're right though, it will be a great experience.

You will LOVE having a few years outside of Utah. There's something about being away from family that really binds you as a couple!! Good luck with your next adventure!!!!

Oh Nicole, it is so crazy how time flies, so you are good to start preparing. But you guys are going to have such a great adventure together, and 3 years will fly by too!

Join the world outside of Utah! You guys are going to have a great time. And three years will fly by. My recommendation?...Skype! It works great and your kids will still see their grandparents!

The Midwest is the best! You will miss your family, but you will create so many new ties with people you wouldn't know otherwise. My advice - don't start packing, just decluttering. Be sad about the move now so that once you get there you will be ready for the adventure! Omaha isn't too far from home, believe me. Turkey on the other hand....

I don't even see you guys very often, but the thought of seeing even less of you makes me sad! Thank goodness for blogs. This is just one of those very mixed emotions kind of adventures. Just come back when you're done have a fabulous time!
